New Flavors for VeritageMiami

Written by VeritageMiami Director Lyn Farmer

The past two weeks have brought some exciting announcements from VeritageMiami, so exciting I think they are worth recapping here.

Last week, we announced the switch from our traditional Saturday night dinner extravaganza, replacing it this year with a fun-filled (and Champagne-fueled) brunch on Sunday, October 9 at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami. Our Bubbly Brunch still features the wine and travel-fueled auction that raises money for so many worthy United Way projects, and brings a new level of informality and beachside fun to the program. And, just as an aside, I will note that it gives everyone a rest after three nights of activities culminating in Friday’s Interactive Dinner!

I am particularly enthusiastic about our partnership with the 50 Eggs Inc. group to feature some of the classic dishes at the brunch, favorites from Yardbird, Swine and Spring Chicken, to give the afternoon an extra bit of fun. And in keeping with the Southern vibe of Yardbird and Swine, we’ll have some very good bourbon and rye tastings going on in addition to plentiful Champagne.

Interactive Dinner celebrity chef Jeremy Ford

And speaking of the Interactive Dinner, our signature event on Friday night, October 7, I am stoked that we just announced our guest chef (I’ve known for weeks and it has been killing me not to share) – Jeremy Ford, the Matador maestro. Chef de cuisine at The Miami Beach EDITION’S Matador Room by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jeremy is also the winner this year of Season 13 of Bravo’sTop Chef and, better still (and despite how stern he looks in the photo!), he is a great guy with the perfect sense of humor and engaging personality to lead us all in cooking three courses for dinner. And, yet to be announced but I’ll give you a heads up, some of our past guest chefs will be in the house that night as well. How? Ah, for that announcement you have to wait, but cool news is still coming on VeritageMiami’s 21st year. We’ve hit legal drinking age, and we are celebrating!

Stay tuned ….
