I know the year-end holidays wore everyone down with “’tis the season” talk, but let me try to lift your spirits with a note about another season – it’s almost time for VeritageMiami! We are still a few weeks away from the first event, but the VeritageMiami team is hard at work creating events that will wow you while giving you many opportunities to support United Way Miami. After all, who doesn’t want to do good deeds with a glass of wine or beer in hand? Here’s your chance!
VeritageMiami kicks off on Sunday, April 3 with our Farm to Fork brunch, staged for the first time at the gorgeous Coral Gables Country Club. We’ll be celebrating the abundance of South Florida agriculture with some dazzling dishes served family style, and a chance to talk with the chef about how it’s done. We’re saving the name of the chef for a big reveal next week, but you’ll be excited, I assure you.
On Thursday, April 14, we are back at vibrant Wynwood Walls for the annual (for 11 years!) Craft Beer Tasting. This year, we’re augmenting the fun with the brews by adding another component, “Wine Within the Walls”! I wish I could lay claim to that clever name, but my colleague Kristina Corrales gets credit for that. It sums up our idea to feature all the craft beer producers you’ve come to know and love, and expand the tasting fun with a wine tasting as well. The event will include the optional “Pro’s Mix and Mingle” and there is a VIP option as well, so a great time is guaranteed for everyone: brewers, wineries, restaurants and you in the wonderful outdoor galleries of Wynwood Walls, a combination that can’t be beat.
Then on May 20, VeritageMiami returns to the InterContinental Miami for the always popular (and always sold out, so don’t tarry) Interactive Dinner. After several years highlighting a single celebrity chef, this year we’re bringing back three crowd favorites from past dinners – a trio of chefs to guide you through the most fun you can possibly have playing with your food. There will be amazing wine pairings and great entertainment (although I think our guests provide the best entertainment of all), and next week I’ll give you the chef roster for this event as well as Farm to Fork.
It’s not too early to make your plans – all these events are expected to sell out, so by all means get friends together to make up some fun tables and order your tickets – it’s easy to do at the VeritageMiami website. I will have an insider’s look at the events every week from now until May, so join me on the blog each week, and then join me for these fun events that all share the goal of supporting the important work of United Way Miami.
